OpEd

One of the choices for my opinion editorial I was thinking about is about a quote, which generally has to do with the way we treat others. I feel that the world is becoming more blind to others and their feelings, which causes more pain in the world.

Another topic I was thinking about is how we treat wild animals. We disreguard them, and sometimes ignore or even go out of our way to harm them. I want to make an impact on people that will at least give them the idea that treating animals harshly is against the law and is immoral.

The last topic I was thining about why every school should have a mixture of cultures. Every culture has something to share with the world. Each culture has certain foods, languages, and thoughts that are not always shared with other cultures. Because of this, we all have something to share. Each of us come from different cultures that can benefit others. It allows others to taste different creations, speak another language, and even see things in a different perspective. We all have something to offer to the world, the thing is, do we know it?

  1. My favorite of your subjects is the one about animals. I think some people really disregard animal rights and some are too intense about them, then of course there's the gray area all in between those two. Everything is based on opinion, and I think one that isn't so radical could sound really good, really "real" to those who may read it without much knowledge on the matter.

  3. I really liked your ideas about animal cruelty and about multicultural schools! I love animals, and definitely agree with you! Animals should be treated with respect.. they are, after all, God's creations- just like us! I think you could write a really moving paper about it! I know that my school back home was not very diverse at all, and I think that it really hindered the growth of the students! The people who were from different cultures tended to all hangout with other people who shared their background. All of the hispanic kids hung out together, all of the African Americans hung out together. It was really weird, and kind of sad. I've talked to some other people and they've told me their schools were the same way. I wish it hadn't been like that in my high school for sure!
