Alright guys, when I made my first post about the OpEd, I didn't think about who I was writing it to. Which means I didn't specifically make it out to BYU students, so I was thinking of a new topic if the others don't work out. The new topic I was thinking about was sanitary problems I see around campus. I'm not sure what to do now really, so if you guys have any suggestions, please let me know!
For this OpEd topic:
Audience: Faculty and students at BYUArguement: We should be more considerate to others, and practice better sanitary habits.
I hope to inform others of the risks they take when they're unsanitary, and steps they can take to be sanitary. Once again, I'm not sure if this is a good idea, so any input is appreciated!
This sounds like a great topic so far, Candace. Be thinking of specific examples and instances you'll use to convince people of the need to be more sanitary on campus.

This is a really great idea! I think you could get really far in this paper. Maybe you could discuss how people sometimes use the restroom and don't even wash their hands. Post signs in bathrooms could be a way to help the problem. Goodluck!

Thanks for the comments guys! I'll be sure to write about people not washing their hands. That's actually the reason why I wanted to write this paper :).
ReplyDeleteI like this idea very much. It is original and quite applicable to a college campus environment. I agree that you should pick out a specific something that you want to do to help out. Maybe an informational pamphlet? Or tissues on campus? haha
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, pet peeve right here. Its absolutely disgusting when people don't wash their hands or sneeze without covering. And in a way, it is kind of inconsiderate to the people who want to stay clean and as germ-free as possible. This sounds like it'll be a good topic!

Thanks guys! I think I'll be able to make all my pages with the imput!
ReplyDeleteA specific example you could incorporate is the student weight room. Being on the track team I rarely use it cause we have our own but when I do I can't help but notice the differences. We are always asked to spray and wipe down our machines when we are done and have plenty of towels to wipe away sweat. The student weight room has none of these things. They should have students wipe down the cardio machines after each use. It might be a different direction than you're looking to take but thought i'd throw it out there.
